Buttercream Frosting

2 cups unsalted butter (softened)

4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp heavy cream or milk

Pink and ivory food coloring

Method:

1. Beat butter until creamy and pale.

2. Add powdered sugar gradually.

3. Add vanilla and cream; beat until fluffy.

4. Tint several shades of pink — from blush to dusty rose — for a ruffled ombré effect.

---

Decoration

Cover the cake in a thin layer of buttercream (crumb coat), then chill.

Using a petal piping tip, create ruffled layers up the sides of each tier in graduated pink shades.

Bottom tier: deep rose pink ruffles.

Middle tier: lighter pink tones.

Top tier: soft blush and ivory ruffles blending seamlessly.

Add sugar roses, peonies, or soft edible petals cascading gently.

Optionally, dust with edible pearl shimmer or rose-gold highlights.

---

Assembly

1. Stack the cooled cakes with filling between each layer.

2. Insert dowels for support if needed.

3. Apply crumb coat, chill for 20–30 minutes, then pipe ruffles in ombré pattern.

4. Add sugar flowers on the top and sides for a couture finish.
