For the Buttercream Frosting:


6 cups powdered sugar


1 cup unsalted butter, softened


1½ teaspoons vanilla extract


2–3 tablespoons milk


Food coloring (pink, blue, yellow, or preferred colors)



For Decoration:


Assorted colorful candies (sprinkles, jelly candies, small chocolates)


Favorite cartoon figurines (Peppa Pig, Cinderella, etc.)

👩‍🍳 Instructions


1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pans: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour the cake pans.



2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.



3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.



4. Combine Ingredients: Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.



5. Bake the Cake Layers: Divide the batter evenly among prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.



6. Cool the Cake Layers: Let the cakes cool completely on wire racks.



7. Prepare Buttercream Frosting: Beat the softened butter, gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Divide and color portions as desired.



8. Assemble the Cake: Spread buttercream between layers and cover the cake completely with a smooth layer of frosting.



9. Decorate: Use colored buttercream, candies, and cartoon figurines to decorate.



10. Add Candles: Place birthday candles before serving.
