🧁 Ingredients

For the Cake Layers:

3 cups sifted cake flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

1½ cups granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

5 large egg whites

1 cup whole milk

¼ cup vegetable oil

For the Buttercream Frosting:

6 cups confectioners' sugar

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1½ teaspoons vanilla extract

2–3 tablespoons whole milk

For Decoration:

Edible gold leaf

Fresh blush-colored flowers (e.g., peonies, roses)

Gold leaf trim for decoration

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Cake Layers: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour four 8-inch round cake pans.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the sifted cake flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add Egg Whites and Vanilla: Add the egg whites, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Combine Dry Ingredients and Milk: Alternately add the dry ingredients and whole milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

6. Add Oil: Stir in the vegetable oil until the batter is smooth.

7. Bake the Cake Layers: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Cool the Cake Layers: Allow the cake layers to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

9. Prepare the Buttercream Frosting: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of milk, and beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy. If the frosting is too thick, add the remaining tablespoon of milk to reach the desired consistency.

10. Assemble the Cake: Place one cake layer on a serving platter. Spread a layer of buttercream frosting over the top. Repeat with the remaining cake layers and frosting.

11. Decorate the Cake: Apply a thin crumb coat of frosting over the entire cake and refrigerate for 30 minutes. After chilling, apply a final smooth coat of frosting. Decorate the cake with edible gold leaf trim and fresh blush-colored flowers.

12. Serve and Enjoy: Slice and serve the elegant wedding cake to your guests.
